Workplace is a collaborative business communication tool by Meta that allows teams to talk, message, share and stay up to date. Workplace is used by more than 7 million people worldwide.
Originally named ‘Facebook at Work’, the identity was developed to distance the brand from the social associations of the parent brand.
The ‘W’ symbol is the central element of the brand, sitting on every user’s home screen. Designed as an icon that can be scribbled by hand as easily as it can be clicked with a mouse, the symbol is a functional device on and off the screen.
When Facebook became Meta in 2021, we were asked back to adjust the Workplace identity to fit within the group wide design system.
